The public discussion of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report of the Saare-Liivi offshore wind farm took place at the end of April in Kihnu, the municipality closest to the wind farm. Cross-border feedback from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden will be received by 19 May at the latest.
About a dozen local Kihnu residents, including representatives of the Kihnu council, gathered at the Kihnu community center. The results of the studies carried out during the EIA and the conditions foreseen in the report for the construction of the wind farm were presented by Kristiina Nauts, Development Manager of Utilitas Wind, and Riin Kutsar, Leading Expert of the EIA from OÜ Roheplaan. In addition, the questions were answered by several experts who conducted the surveys, including ichthyologist Redik Eschbaum, head of the coastal sea fisheries working group of the Marine Institute of the University of Tartu, ornithologist Leho Luigujõe and several others.

The public display of the environmental impact assessment report of the Saare-Liivi offshore wind farm in Estonia ended on April 21st, and cross-border feedback from neighboring countries should arrive by May 19th. After that, the EIA report will be supplemented based on the proposals received, and response letters will be sent to all those who have submitted proposals in the course of the disclosure. Then the report can be submitted to the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority to declare it compliant.
